Short Description:
Sequence Tips 2.0 - Receive tips in order (1, 2, 3,... or 100, 99, 98,...) to reach the goal
Full Description
This is a tipping game, modelled after Sequence Tips, where tippers tip in either increasing or decreasing amounts towards a target.
Settings:
At launch, the broadcaster is prompted for a goal description, and start and end points for tipping, either of which may be in the range
1 to
100 tokens.
The recommended format for the description is
Something @ Goal and
@ Goal will be added automatically, if it is not found.
It is a good idea to keep the description short, so that it can be understood on the model front page, where only about the first
30 characters will be visible.
The total return on a sequence of tips depends on the start and end points. For example,
1..14 returns
105,
1..32 returns
528,
1..45 returns
1035,
1..71 returns
2556 and
1..100 is equivalent to
5050 tokens.
All settings, including the calculated sequence total and the following options, are echoed to the broadcaster at start-up.
Optional Settings:
Tips that are less than the next required sequence amount are banked for the tipper and taken into account when they next tip.
Tips (including banked amounts) that are large enough to cover more than one of the next required sequence amounts will clear them, with any remainder being banked.
A tip that is large enough to cover all the remaining amounts up to the goal is known as a 'nuke' tip.
The broadcaster has the option of displaying the current nuke tip value as a hint to tippers, on the info panel (that also shows the next sequence tip value and the last successful sequence tipper,) under the web-cam player.
However, as very large nuke tip values can be discouraging, there is the option of not showing them above a certain threshold (of the broadcaster's choosing) or not showing them at all.
The default nuke hint threshold is
200 tokens. But if a broadcaster regularly receives tips larger than that, they may wish to set a higher threshold.
While the app is active, in addition to being listed in the info panel, the messages of the last successful sequence tipper may be highlighted in chat, by setting a
Last Tipper Chat HiLite HTML Color Code.
HTML color codes take the form
#rrggbb where
rr,
gg and
bb are hexadecimal values representing the amount of red, green and blue in a color. Typical examples include
#FF9999 (hilite red),
#99FF99 (hilite green, default),
#9999FF (hilite blue),
#FF99FF (hilite purple), and
#99FFFF (hilite cyan).
By default, Last Tipper highlighting ceases once a goal has been reached. But broadcasters may choose to continue it (while the app is still active) by choosing not to cancel highlighting at it.
Finally the broadcaster may choose to receive (private) extended app notices, which include:
- a note of any tips that are short of the next sequence tip,
- a note of successful tips and banked tokens,
- a note of the current 'nuke' value, when not displayed in the info panel,
- a re-launch reminder when tips are received after the goal has been reached, and
- a no tips interval timer reminder.
In addition, Next Tip graphics are posted to general chat when the broadcaster enables extended app notices.
Notes.
- All private notices begin with the words "Notice: Tip Ladder: Psst!" to distinguish them from public notices and those from other apps/bots.
- Tippers receive a private thank you notice with each tip, noting whether the tip was successful and whether any excess tokens were banked.
- Banked tokens may only be used to make up tips towards a goal against which they were originally tipped. In other words, they will not be counted towards any tips against a newly set goal. (Unfortunately, when an app/bot is re-started, all temporary data is lost. Sorry, tippers.)
- There are no in-chat commands available for this app. To adjust its settings, access the start-up page by deactivating and re-launching it.
- The Last Tipper Chat HiLite HTML Color Code option also recognizes the short form of HTML color codes, #rgb
- The brightness of any highlighted chat messages is automatically adjusted to ensure readability.
- Broadcasters who do not want the last tipper's messages to be highlighted at all, should delete the default color code and leave that option blank.
- The broadcaster's private no tips timer reminder notice will fire if no tip has been received after 15 minutes, and then once every half hour after that that no tips are received. (You might want to de-activate the app or even log out ;)
Acknowledgements:
- Although this app is designed to operate in a similar manner to Cliche123 and Nolidoux's Sequence Tips app, its code is the result of reverse-engineering and is not derived, in any way, from that of the original. In particular, all but one of the practical in-progress and to-do features listed in the original's documentation have been implemented. The one practical feature that has not been implemeted is the 'accept amounts in any order' capability, as variations on that theme are already available in the form of my two tip counting apps, Tip Tumbler and Toller Coaster, listed below.
- Credit to brandonxavier's post for drawing attention to the :next[0-9]+ series of emote graphics.
Let's get tipped, and let's get nekkid ;)
